Canon Rebal XS:Alright so Here we have the Canon Rebal XS a very well designed camera in terms of user end operations, Unlike some of its competators the cannon rebal xs uses a live view system which allows the user to view the shot compesition through the lcd screen. Very nice reature for people coming from the point and shoot class into a low end dslr. Having this feature alone makes this camera much for appealing to vist time dslr shoppers. Another neat feater is the contrast-detection AF mode, this allows the camera to auto focus itself with out disturbing the live preview |

Looks and Feel:The XS seems to get very low rankings in this field, many users complain about the dodgy feel of things and the shinny plastic finish it has and chincy plastic buttons. However im sure cannon wouldn't put their name at stake with purducing a camera that couldn't hold up to general wear and tear. The body in terms of size is just about the exact same as its upgraded model the XSI, however lacks some of the creature comforts like the thumb rest and comfortable contured grip. So if these sorts of things dont scare you and in turn make you spring for a nikon or sony then continue on. |

Conclusion:While the Rebal XS lacks in the beauty and rugid feel it sure does pick up its slack in over all mechanics, with a decent lens and knowledge you can take professional quality photos hands down, With its great new featurs like the unlimited JPEG buffer for continuous shooting and more compatible cross-type center AF sensor. I give this one a good standing for the strictly mechanical minded photographer. |
